LES Continues to be active in IP-related public policy debates. Rachael Kreppel, Purdue Pharma, and Chair of the LES Public Policy Committee, will moderate a panel discussion the Committee's activity. The panel will include LES Chairman-Elect Brian P. O'Shaughnessy, discussing his recent testimony before the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship on the effects of patent law changes on the small business community. Other panelists will discuss recent LES activity as amicus curiae at the Supreme Court, including Daniel S. Stringfield, Steptoe & Johnson, on LES brief in Halo Electronic, Inc. v.Pulse Electronic Inc. and Stryker Corporation v. Zimmer, Inc. (standard for enhanced damages for willful infringement); and Gary D. Fedorochko, Banner & Witcoff, on LES brief in Cuozzo Speed Technologies v. Lee (standard of review in Inter Partes Review proceedings). Both firms prepared the briefs pro bono, and under the direction of the LES Board.
