The AIA has been law for almost a year, and yet there is still much to do toward implementation.  A thorough understanding of its effects won't be possible for many years to come.  Nonetheless, legislative action on IP issues, including "technical amendments" to the AIA, and new legislation continues apace, all while the USPTO works diligently to implement the first few waves of the law as enacted.  This highly experienced and plugged in panel, from academia, high tech, and health care, will discuss and debate the merits of the AIA, how it is – and is likely – to be implemented; and, perhaps most importantly, what additional legislative initiatives are on the horizon.
